Hannah Young isn't ready for this weekend's Frontier Conference soccer tournament.
Not because the Saints senior forward hasn't prepared herself for the midfield battles, the full-speed collisions or the opportunity to add one more goal to an illustrious college career. Story
GREAT FALLS -- The Carroll College soccer team clinched the Frontier Conference championship outright Saturday, beating the University of Great Falls on the road, 4-0. The Saints, who improve to 13-4-1, were spearheaded offensively by Molly Clark, who scored two goals and crossed one assist.
"It was really windy up there, so I feel good about scoring in both halves and keeping Great Falls out of the scoring sheet," CC coach Dave Thorvilson said. "And we played about 20 players, so almost everyone got into the game." Story
On a day dedicated to the seniors, it was a couple of underclassmen who stole the show from their older teammates, as the Carroll College soccer team edged the Westminster Griffins, 2-1 at Nelson Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
After falling behind 1-0, Carroll sophomore Meghan O'Connell's goal tied things up at 1-all, before freshman Laura Maddock booted the game-winner. Story
BILLINGS - Meghan O'Connell scored twice and goalkeeper Katie Beall recorded her fifth shutout of the season as the Carroll College women's soccer team blanked Rocky Mountain College 2-0 in a Frontier Conference game on Sunday.
"I thought the whole team played quite well," Carroll coach Dave Thorvilson said. "We got a good, solid 90 minutes." Story
Wearing her hair up for the first time in her college career, Carroll College forward Meghan O'Connell ignited the Saints to a 5-1 victory over Walsh University at Nelson Stadium Monday.
O'Connell opened the scoring with a diving header at the six-minute mark, on a pass from Hannah Young, and then assisted Young's goal at 32:00 for the deciding tally. Story
The Carroll College soccer team got a chance to play some of the younger women who don't often see the pitch much on Saturday, cruising to an 11-0 romp over Southwestern College (Ariz.) at Nelson Stadium.
"This is their first year in the program and they don't have any backup players," Saints head coach Dave Thorvilson said. "We knew coming in we were going to be the dominant team." Story
The Carroll College women's soccer team ended their road trip to New York with a split on Tuesday as the No. 22 Saints (6-4-1) dropped their contest with Houghton 1-0. Houghton (7-1-2) scored after a shot fell at the feet of players near the goal. The ball bounced between forwards and defenders a few times before finally going in, said Saints head coach Dave Thorvilson.
Carroll, meanwhile, had a few opportunities but couldn't capitalize.
"We had two or three pretty good looks, but we just missed the hit on the ball," he said. Story
Hannah Young scored a pair of second-half goals as the Carroll College women's soccer team defeated Roberts Wesleyan College 2-1 in a nonconference game on Monday night.
"We played a really good second half," Carroll coach Dave Thorvilson said. "It was a good, even first half. But we were the much better team in the second-half."
Young opened the scoring in the 66 th minute. After Roberts had tied the contest in the 70 th minute, Young provided the game-winner, taking a pass from Tayt Ellison and beating the Raider netminder in the far left corner of the net for her sixth goal of the season. Story

Carroll College senior goaltender and Capital High School graduate Katie Beall was named the Frontier Conference's Defensive Soccer Player of the Week. Beall helped the Saints go 0-1-1 last week, allowing just three goals over a pair of double-overtime games, while making 15 saves. The Saints improved to 5-2-1 overall.
Carroll fell to The Masters College 3-2 Saturday and tied Westminster College 0-0 Sunday. Both games were played in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Salt Lake City, UT-After 120 minutes of soccer on Sunday neither Carroll College or Westminster could find a way to put a ball in the back of the net. Statistically the Griffins outshot the Saints 9 to 7 on goal with Katie Beall registering 9 save for Carroll to Lindsay Bekken's 7 for Westminster. Much of the game was played in both teams midfield with each team only getting 1 or 2 good looks at goal. Beall came up with one big save the second half as she saved a break-a-way but much of the day Westminster settled for shots from distance. "I felt that we played very well today under tuff circumstances. This was our second game in as many days and Saturday's game also went into double over time. Westminster put lots of numbers into their defense today and we just could not find a way through in such a limited space. We were able to beat the keeper in the second overtime but the cross bar kept us from a win," said Thorvilson
The Saints will be back in action this Friday as they host conference foe Rocky Mountain College at 4:00 PM to kick of the Home Coming Weekend.
