How Do I Register?

If you are not currently enrolled at Carroll College, you may:

  1. Contact Cindy Greiman, the Director of Summer School, who will help you register for summer classes. Cindy can be reached at 406-447-5434 or 800-992-3648, or through .
  2. Or print and complete the Summer Registration Form and the Non-Degree Student Application and mail them to the Registrar's Office, Carroll College, 1601 North Benton Avenue, Helena, MT 59625.
  3. Or, register in person through the Friday before your course begins. Go to the Registrar's Office first to reserve your class, then make payment in the Business Office.

If you are currently enrolled at Carroll College , you may reserve your summer courses through the Square or by contacting the Registrar's Office. Full payment for all reserved classes must be made on the Friday before your first class begins.

Offices are open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Summer School Sessions

  • Session AI: May 11 - June 5/6 final on Saturday, June 6)
  • Session I: May 11 - May 22/23 (final on Saturday, May 23)
  • Session IIA: May 26 - June 6. Final, if required, will be scheduled on Saturday, June 6
  • Session IIB: May 26 - June 6 (Only classes that do not require a final may be scheduled during this session, since the last day of class is Saturday, June 6, and final cannot be scheduled on the same day as the last class.)
  • Session III: June 8 - July 10/11 (final on Saturday, July 11)
  • Session IV: July 6 - July 17/18 (final on Saturday, July 18)

Schedule Changes: Any change in a student's class schedule must be officially recorded in the Office of the Registrar. Therefore, begin the process by picking up an add/drop form in the Registrar's Office, Room 241, O'Connell Hall.

Deadlines

The deadlines to change course enrollment (add a course, change pass/fail or audit status, or drop without a "W" on transcript) are:

  • Session AI: Wednesday, May 13
  • Session I: Monday, May 11
  • Session II: Tuesday, May 26
  • Session III: Wednesday, June 10
  • Session IV: Monday, July 6

The deadlines to withdraw from a class are:

  • Session I: Friday, May 15
  • Session II: Friday, May 29
  • Session III: Friday, June 19
  • Session IV: Friday, July 10

What Will It Cost?

Application Fee
Payable once only, upon initial enrollment -  $35.00

Regular Tuition

  • Credits 1 through 6 - $590.00 per credit
  • Additional credits - $486.00 per credit

Post-Baccalaureate Tuition
For students with Bachelor's degrees -  $382.00 per credit (some restrictions apply, contact Registrar's Office)

Senior Citizen Tuition
Students sixty years and older, auditors only.

  • 1 -3 credits: $50.00
  • 4 - 6 credits: $100.00
  • 7 - 9 credits: $150.00

First-time senior students must pay the $35 application fee.

Audit Tuition
$125.00 per credit

Return of Federal Funds Requirement

Students who (1) receive federal student aid and (2) withdraw from all enrolled classes in a specific summer session and will not complete any classes during the entire Summer semester, are subject to Return of Federal Funds procedures.

Students should (1) notify the Financial Aid Office as soon as there is a change in enrollment status and (2) complete an official withdrawal card as soon as it is known that no classes will be completed during the Summer semester.

Summer School Refund Policy

  • 2 week Session: 1st day of classes - 100% refund, less registration fee
  • 4 and 5 week Sessions: First 3 days of classes - 100% refund, less registration fee
  • First 60% of session - Percent of days remaining in session
  • Beyond 60% of Session - No Refund
  • Registration Fee - $25
  • Room refund is pro-rated on a weekly basis

The official withdrawal date is determined by the date the student begins the withdrawal process of notifies the Registrar's Office of his/her intent to withdraw.

Enrollment in some courses is limited.

Financial Aid
Financial Aid in the form of loans may be available to eligible degree seeking Carroll students. Students who are not seeking a Carroll College degree are ineligible for student financial aid through Carroll. Contact the Financial Aid Office for information and an aid application form.

Course Cancellations
The College reserves the right to withdraw courses lacking sufficient registration.

Study Load
Students participating in the two-week, 3 credit courses may enroll for no more than one 3-credit course during a single two-week session.
